R.A. Denny earned her law degree from Duke University. A former criminal prosecutor, she received numerous awards for her work in bullying prevention, including the NCCJ Delaware regional award for her leadership in building bridges toward diversity and inclusion. Her full-length feature film was screened internationally.
Her journey in writing novels began when one of her sons suggested that they form a writer's group like C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien's Inklings. With encouragement from her own "Inklings," she has published eight novels in two series.
As a youth, R.A. assisted her parents with their genealogical research. Her ancestor, Thomas Mayhew of Martha's Vineyard, believed his son who was lost at sea had not drowned but had been captured by Barbary corsairs. Intrigued by the possibilities, she delved into Moroccan history and traveled to Morocco. This led to her Pirates and Puritans historical fiction time-travel series.
R.A. enjoys history, tabletop games, and painting. She also loves spending time in nature, riding horses, swimming, and kayaking. Wherever she is, she loves a challenge.
