Jamie Markle is a publishing and marketing consultant, as well as a fine artist. He began his 17-year career in publishing as an Associate Editor for North Light Books and quickly rose through the ranks by acquiring and developing content with key instructors in the fine art community. As Vice President and Group Publisher at F+W Media, he was responsible for the creative and financial health of the Fine Art group, overseeing books, magazines, videos, online courses, and digital content.
He has worked with numerous editorial teams to create the following magazines: The Artist’s Magazine, Acrylic Artist, Cloth Paper Scissors, Pastel Journal, Drawing, Southwest Art, The Collector’s Guide of New Mexico, and Watercolor Artist. He oversaw the content direction for North Light Books and IMPACT books, as well as videos produced by Artists Network. He has worked very closely with many prominent art educators across the US and Canada, including Charles Reid, Nancy Reyner, Richard McKinley, Liz Haywood-Sullivan, Sandra Duran Wilson, Lee Hammond, Patti Brady, Linda Kemp, Nita Leland, Jean Pederson, and Betsy Dillard Stroud.
Jamie holds a degree in Fine Art from Xavier University where he studied painting and drawing. He has worked in a variety of media over the years, including oil, acrylic and most recently, mixed media. In addition to making art, Jamie has a huge sweet tooth that he counteracts by running about 25 miles each week.
