I spent most of my working career as a lawyer, so the first thing I had to learn to do as an author was to use contractions! How silly is that? My love for fantasy and the occasional science fiction grew as an escape from the pressures of my professional life As a youngster I read Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, and moved on to Asimov, Heinlein and Bradbury. Robert Silverberg and Roger Zelazny opened the floodgates for me. Now I read anything from YA fantasy to dystopian novels to horror, all while trying te maintain my sweet reasonable take on the worlds I create.
One of the nice things about being retired is I have the ability to read and write to my heart's content. In many ways, I'm busier than i was when I worked. I live in beautiful Burlington, Vermont, so I write more in the winter, huddling in the chill, while escaping to enjoy the delights of this city and state in the warmer months.
I hope we can spend some time together.I expect you will have more interesting conversation than I get from my cats!
