Christine Whittemore

Christine Whittemore was born and grew up in England; she has lived in Italy and France, and, for many years, in the USA. She now divides her time between Pennsylvania and her native UK.

She writes poetry, essays, and fiction, and her work has appeared in many American and British publications. Among other awards she has received a Fellowship in Literature (Poetry) from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

Her novel, Inscription, is about two women who live and write almost two thousand years apart. Inscription won the 2013 Eludia Award from Hidden River Arts and has been published by their Sowilo Press imprint. Inscription was one of twelve semi-finalists for the 2016 VCU Cabell First Novelist Award.

Christine's first poetry collection — "Sudden Arabesque" — is out now from Oversteps Books.
