Rusty Savage comes from a long line of Storytellers and Artists. Rusty's storytelling has been influenced by his late father, Ken, who's rich recollections and tall tales of his childhood, are weaved into the imaginative journeys and mysteries of Rusty's characters. His main career has been as a Tattoo Artist from 1975 to the present. Along the way he used his art and love for American-made motorcycles into a companion career in publishing and promotions.
All of Rusty's work draws on his extensive travels and experiences as a wanderer and adventurer during his youth, sowing his wild oats in '60's and '70's. After the Air Force he pursued his love of music, art and design and motorcycles to live and work in those industries. Still a world traveler and master smoozer, Rusty manages to see the plots of life through his marriage, kids, art, careers and turmoils along the way. His observations of people and the predicaments those people get into adds the spice to the characters he writes about.
Rusty began writing in the '70s, starting with short story's and features for magazines, He later became an editor and eventually publisher of several magazines, He started work on his novels in 1992, shortly finding he had 5 different works in progress. He had started writing several of the Ringo Series, but had so many more ideas coming he had to start writing several more. After years of pursuing traditional publishing routes, Rusty decided to self publish. Rusty currently still works as a Tattoo Artist in Drain Oregon and publishes a local newspaper, the Oregon News Herald. Rusty turned 71 in 2025 and plans to publish at least 2 more novels and is working on a book of short stories. His newest book is the All American Motorcycles Book Vol 1, which is a large hardcover coffee table book with 200 pages from the best of the All American Motorcycle Magazine from 2005 to 2012.
