Beatrix Potter

Hi, I'm Lita Delgado, translator of these wonderful Beatrix Potter story books. I was Born in Bulusan Province in The Philippines.

My mother, oh my mother, so strong in her faith and so hardworking.

I thank my mother for her perseverance in making my three sisters, three brothers and me walk to school in clean clothes with books, pencils and paper.

She insisted we speak English. I thank her for that also, because then I could go to Manila and get a job in a bank or in a foreign company.

So, at age fifteen, with the name and address of a distant relative stored in my cellphone, I boarded an aircon bus for the bright lights of the city where the streets are paved in gold.
