Randy Rheaume

Dr. Randy Rheaume earned his master's degree in theology (Th.M.) from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1985, his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree from Trinity International University in 1996, and his Ph.D. in New Testament Studies from the University of Wales, Lampeter, in 2010. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society.

Randy has been fascinated with Jesus Christ since he became a Christ follower in 1973. He is the founding pastor of Stony Creek Church in Utica, Michigan, where he serves as the lead pastor and teacher. In his senior year of college, he met and fell in love with Debbie, and they were married in 1981. Randy and Debbie have two adult daughters and a son; together they form a close family.

As a busy, full-time senior pastor, Randy is especially passionate about conveying the truth of Scripture to his congregation through expository preaching and teaching. Many of his sermons and teachings are available via podcast at stonycreek.church. He has led numerous people to faith in Jesus and mentored several to maturity in Christ, including some of the leaders in his congregation.

As a New Testament scholar Randy is particularly captivated by the gospels (especially John), Jesus studies, Christian origins, systematic theology, and apologetics. He wrote his Ph.D. dissertation at the University of Wales exploring the equality and subordination themes in Johannine Christology. He also relishes reading, researching, and engaging in friendly discussion/debate on all topics biblical and theological, both with people who agree and disagree with him. Randy enjoys teaching courses in the field of New Testament as an adjunct faculty member of Detroit Bible Institute. He likes walking, classical music, and wholesome, well-acted movies that inspire thoughtful discussion.
