The escape:

I was 19 years old when I started to be a traveler. Or perhaps I should say better, when I got a refugee of our civilization. I escaped because I realized that our society is going to die.

My apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic at Bosch`s headquater in Stuttgart gave me the necessary insight into the rules and dependencies of modern slavery and the commercial exploitation of all our resources. Not only the earth, but also our human values are gonna sold out here.

The search:

I really refused to live like this, and left my homeland at the same day of my final exam (by the way I have passed with commendation). I just wanted to be a part of the solution and not of the problem. My long search for a better place and for more solidarity people lasted 15 years and gave me a lot of hope, and of course also many dissapointments. Nowhere in this world it really seemed to be better. In some countries, it was very nice, but everywhere the developments went in the same wrong direction. Soon I realized that there was no escape and that we are all sitting in the same tiny boat called planet earth. The problem that I recognized in our society is basically the big problem of mankind. Because it only reflects a collective ego-state of consciousness. Although it has many names, but it seems to me much deeper than what we mean by "capitalism" or "globalization".

The new home:

When I came to Andalucia in 1997, I liked the seclusion of the Alpujarras. It makes you feel often like being surrounded by unspoilt nature. And yet it was filled with Travellers like me. They all came and went like in a dovecote. Here I felt connected with likeminded people, and liked it a lot to be in a protected bubble by the beautiful wild nature around us.

The solar revolution:

I was 33 when I settled my life again onto a place. Like many young people, I wanted to make radically changes. I already knew that our social system would not be able to survive in the long run, so I decided to pretend that it is already not there. I played this state of emergency and for many years tried to get as independent as I could. Through my profession I succeeded the easiest crafting in the energy sector. Solar energy got my hobby and my passion and I invented a lot of practical things that work by the power of the sun. Lots of people liked this so enthusiastically that I wrote this well known DIY-Solar-Book about it, which is translated now in 4 languages and still sells very well all over the world. The second thing were I got very good in, is repairing everything. Having in my mind, that one day we will not be able to go into a shop any buy all this new stuff anymore. Repairing broken stuff is actually active recycling and can, even today, save a lot of money, too.

Energy Awareness:

Through many years of working as a solar technician I realized at least one real reason of our collective misery: Our energy-awareness. How can we assume that all will be fine, if we still require more energy every year. Wasting energy seems to have no end. All this heating, lighting, driving, flying, building, consuming... nowadays, as being senseless. We burn all these precious natural resources, And I guess our future generations certainly would know much better things to do with it. We still use nuclear energy, although the risks are obviously no longer in control, and there was never an adequate disposal available.

Waiting for the apocalypse:

Unfortunately, it is not only that bad in the energy sector. Just think of the population expolsion, or the gene manipulations, the decline of medicine and religions..... Our plasik waste problem, or what really has happen about our desire for a world in peace.

But one thing seems to me very significant, we live here as the first generation in history of mankind according to: "may the floods come after us".

The number of those which recognize this is still increasing alarmingly in the last 30 years. It seems to me that we all just wait until it might finally happen. We know that it can not go on like this, but what are we really ready to do for it?

In most areas, the technical and ecological alternatives are already available, but they are simply not yet been fully in charge. We all stand like beeing paralized in front of the greatest challenge in the history of mankind. We must learn to really use our minds even before it's too late. But it seems that still our conservative conveniences will win this bloody game instead.

The purest form of insanity is to leave everything as it is and hope at the same time that something changes! (Albert Einstein)

My rebirth:

I always had a huge anger about all this madness, and it has driven me crazy all my life, and it probably still does. But today something has changed. After a near-death-experience in 2012, I know that all this is not really as bad as it might seem. Life is in constant motion, species come and go on this planet, we humans will pay for our mistakes, and that is ok. It does not really matter, everything here is part of a larger truth, in which time no longer matters. Perhaps in a few hundred thousand years our earth will bring up new life again. Everything what ever happens remains forever, any information relating to every moment is stored in the timeless fabric of the cosmos. Also everything timeless such as love will last forever.

Death is the biggest fear on earth, but it is only a rebirth into a different state of consciousness. Finding out this has changed my life completely. I finally live in peace and really appreciate the greatest gift that we all got here on Earth: Life itself. Let the sun shine in!
