I have visited the Hawaiian Islands often, and like most of you, I too dreamed of living in paradise! Way back in about 2001, my husband and I started dreaming . . . and loosely planning. Our attempts at gaining information was futile. We never had quite enough information to make that final decision. That is how The Real Hawaii Life started. I needed to have in-depth conversations with those who had already relocated! So that began my quest for information, which eventually turned into a book.

As a sometimes-working-sometimes-not-working mom , I had periods of a lot of down time while homeschooling my youngest child (now 11). I went crazy looking for something to do! I always wanted to write, and had opportunities earlier in my life, but I never quite knew what to write that could be of use to someone else and something interesting enough to keep me motivated. I was excited when the idea for The Real Hawaii Life surfaced.

With the book finished, other writing projects are creeping onto the table. I love talking with people and hearing about their life struggles and successes. I believe that other people are a great source of information if only one has access to them. Learning about others' mistakes can help us to refrain from making them in our own lives.

I hope you enjoy reading the true stories that are seemingly becoming my niche!
