Christopher Reutinger

Christopher Reutinger was born in San Diego, California in 1946. Reutinger graduated from Point Loma High School and then attended San Francisco State University on a Violin Music Scholarship to play in that schools flagship Morrison Quartet. That included one year abroad at The University of Uppsala, Sweden. He transferred to The University of California, Berkeley and graduated with a BA in 1970. Reutinger then did graduate music studies at USC studying with Alice Schoenfeld. He won an audition to play first violin with the Honolulu Symphony in 1972, spending one year there. Reutinger returned to Los Angeles and worked for over 45 years in The Hollywood Recording Studios at Warner Bros. MGM Columbia Disney Universal Paramount and Fox on Movies, TV, and Records. He is a composer with BMI and wrote 25 source tune vignettes for TV movies of the week. His experiences in this industry caused him to write: THINGS I WISH THEY HAD TOLD ME ABOUT THE MUSIC BUSINESS.

Having grown up in San Diego, he bargained frequently with merchants in Tijuana, Mexico before he was a teenager. At Berkeley, he supplemented his student income buying and selling at The Alameda Penny Mart Flea Market and Berkeley Swap meet. He has been in the resale business since 1969. This caused him to write THE ART OF RESALE BARGAINING.

15 years ago he and his wife started a Malibu Estate Sale Company which had numerous sales from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles. The book: 79 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ESTATE SALES is based on that real life experience.

Having started violin and tennis lessons the same month of his life, November 1955, Reutinger went on to coach High School Tennis at Malibu High for 10 years and St. Bonaventure High in Ventura Ca. for 4 years altogether winning 11 league titles, 2 CIF Championships and 2 CIF Runner-ups. This caused the writing of COACHING WINNING HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS.

By traveling extensively in Baja California, Mexico since the 50s through today caused Reutinger to write a travel guide: A GRINGO'S GUIDE TO ROSARITO BEACH, LA MISION, VALLE DE GUADALUPE & ENSENADA.
