Dada Vedaprajinananda

Dada Vedaprajinananda is a meditation and yoga teacher, singer-songwriter,author and social activist. Dada was born in New York City in 1946.He graduated from Colgate University in 1968 with high honors.

Shortly after graduating, Dada hitch-hiked to California attracted by the allure of the “counter-culture” and the then-flourishing hippie movement. In California Dada met an Indian monk who taught him meditation and Dada became an avid practitioner of yoga and meditation. Dada went on to become a monk and taught yoga and meditation in Europe, the Far East and the Middle East for 31 years.

In 2008 he returned to the US where he continues to teach meditation and release CDs of his original songs. His memoir, From Brooklyn to Benares and Back, tells the story of his travels as a yoga missionary. Dada is also the author of The Wisdom of Yoga and numerous magazine articles.
