Lauren Machta

Lauren is an author and Spanish language professional that specializes in teaching, translation and bilingualism.

A native from Southern California, Lauren graduated from San Diego State University (SDSU) with a Master’s Degree in Spanish and a BA in International Business specializing in Western Europe with a minor in German. Lauren also holds a Professional Certificate in Translation and Interpretation (English/Spanish) from the University of California San Diego (UCSD).

Lauren is the owner and instructor of Down to Earth Spanish at https://www.downtoearthspanish.com, a self-paced online Spanish learning website featuring a variety of Spanish courses aimed at helping students learn Spanish effectively on their own time.

She was motivated by her students and inspired by her daughters to write a children's book that was fun, educational and that would encourage families to sit down with the little ones to talk about their genealogy.
