Three of my passions are family, friends, and financial freedom for women. It’s been quite a journey for women to gain control of their money and determine what they want to do it. The ride has not been smooth for most. The books and articles I write try to help women get in the money game. Especially when it comes to their retirement money.

Women will live a long time: A quarter of us will live into our mid-90s. Many will celebrate with 100 candles on their birthday cake. So, I want them to be ready, willing, and able to take control of their financial household every one of those years. And, to keep shopping.

What’s the key to winning your financial freedom? It’s knowing a lot more about the complex financial systems we have to deal with in the US; it’s also about realizing that every financial decision is a retirement decision. And, it’s about talking. Women know how to do that!

I have the great fortune to talk to audiences all over the US. I challenge each person to face the realities of living in retirement when all they really want is the “magic answer” to the question that keeps them up at night: Will I really have enough money to last through my retirement?

And, for the past 15 years, I’ve been running my own small business, Mantell Retirement Consulting, Inc., where I help the country's foremost financial services firms and advisors increase their knowledge of complex retirement concepts and regulations and build custom programs and content to help real people with their real retirement decisions.

My alma mater is the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY and I hold a Retirement Management Advisor (RMA®) designation and a National Social Security Advisor (NSSA®) certification.

My husband and I raised two magnificent daughters in the suburbs of Boston, teaching them from a young age how important it is to save for retirement. I participate in my community and serve on the board for a number of organizations.
