Bambi Smyth

Bambi Smyth was born in Scotland in 1959, but moved to Australia as a 'wee bairn' when her Naval Officer father returned home with her three older sisters and remarkably patient mother. She started drawing at a very early age, and has had 16 children's books published, (which she also wrote) mostly covering nature and wildlife, and do-it-yourself adventure books.

More recently however, she has turned her hand to writing for adults, with her first book, 'Men on the Menu - 75 delicious dates around the world' published in 2014 in Australia with The Five Mile Press, and 2015 in the United Kingdom with Blink Publishing. It follows her real life adventure 'politely' dating 75 men from different cultures, and is a delicious tale indeed!

Her latest book (out now on kindle, and hard copy due February 2016) is 'Bad Hair Year', published by Echo publishing, which chronicles her next adventure - albeit not such a pleasant one - battling a brain tumour and breast cancer in the same year. Luckily she lived to tell the tale!

Bambi has nearly completed her 3rd book, a work of fiction, which will be kept secret for a little while longer.

And then, if she can last the distance, she's going to give romantic sci-fi a go!

Bambi lives by the tempestuous ocean in Southern Victoria, has no husband and no kids, but is planning to make up for that one day by adopting a three legged dog. She is passionate about travel - Africa being her favourite destination - and is a devoted advocate for animal welfare.
