Xian Neng How

How Xian Neng is a Malaysian Chinese. Born and raised at one of the crossroads of the world, he has been exposed to a multitude of languages and dialects since his youth. However, his formal training with languages began during his study in the National University of Singapore, where he learned how to communicate with computers using programming languages as a computer science students.

After his graduation, he worked for 4 years as a programmer. Communicating with machines did not satisfy him, however, and he left the field of programming to embark on a great exploration of life.

During his journey, he realized that his activities kept bringing him back to the importance of language and he eventually became a dedicated language worker: teaching, translating, writing and researching.

He now intends to see the world with his own eyes and hear the languages of the world with his own ears, and then transforms what he has observed into works that are both accessible and meaningful.
