Walt Jaschek is an American author and scriptwriter of the comic -- "comic" as in comic books, and "comic" as in comedy. His goal: "To entertain the world with smart fun."
His books on Amazon include THE DENNY O’NEIL TAPES, A CONVERSATION ABOUT COMICS, CULTURE AND AMERICA. This unique piece of comics journalism includes a long interview with the late comics writer from St. Louis, conducted in 1970 by Walt when he was 15 years old.
A prolific creator since, Walt’s latest published comic book is HEROBOTS™ (paperback and Kindle,) featuring superhero robots powered by the thoughts of kids, characters co-created with Don Secrease.
Walt also co-created the comics MEL COOL: MALL COP (predating Paul Blart by decades) and is daily cranking away on new comics, books, and screenplays.
As publisher and editor, Walt recently released (and wrote the introduction for) THE SACRED CREST, featuring a seldom-seen Grignr the Barbarian story by his late friend James Theis.
A retired copywriter, Walt’s career of creating funny, national ad campaigns earned him induction in 2018 into the St. Louis Media History Foundation’s Hall of Fame.
Walt lives in suburban St. Louis County, Missouri, with his wife Randy. In addition to their creative endeavors, they hike, travel, hit the gym, and regroup nightly for at-home wine tasting. Says Walt often: "I detect notes of grape."
