Stephen L.W. Greene

Stephen L. W. Greene (1944-) is an American professor of journalism with a BA from Cornell, an MA for Berkeley and a PhD from the University of London, England. He taught for many years at San Jose State University.

He started out writing for Irving Wallace in the 1970s (“The People's Almanac”), worked for nearly a decade as a newspaper reporter in Northern California and since has completed many articles and books, including one on Southeast Asian history, (“Absolute Dreams”), one on recent Czech history ("Emerging from Behind the Irony Curtain"), a satirical novel on the Bush years ("The Swallows in the Boathouse") and a Cold War spy novel ("The Golden Rule: Sex, Drugs and Stalking Moles in Czechoslovakia").

He lives in Ithaca NY, owns a boathouse on Cayuga Lake and has visited the Czech Republic and Thailand several times.
