Nancy "Lady Magic," Lieberman is a true pioneer in women's sports. Her extensive resume includes roles as an WNBA player, coach, and general manager; sports broadcaster for ABC, NBC, ESPN, and FOX Sports Southwest (FSSW); motivational speaker and author; the first female coach of a men's team under the NBA umbrella and the second female assistant coach in the NBA. Lieberman was also the first woman to play in a men's professional league.
She is in the Hall of Fame for her career as a player at Old Dominion, silver medalist at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, player in the Women’s Pro Basketball League and men’s pro league the United States Basketball League. She coached in the WNBA and the NBA D-League’s Texas Legends from 2009-2011 before moving into the front office of the Dallas Mavericks affiliate for a year as an assistant general manager. After spending time as an assistant with the Sacramento Kings' Summer League in 2015, Lieberman accepted a position as an assistant coach on George Karl’s staff - making her the second female assistant coach in the NBA.
