From sexual trauma survivor and professional counselor, Linde Grace White, comes a how-to guide to recovery rich in practical suggestion and stories: SHE SITS UP AFTER THEY'VE GONE.

A graduate of the University of Louisville with an M.Ed in guidance and counseling from Xavier University, Ms. White is an outspoken, well-known advocate for sexual trauma survivors. She has worked as a special education teacher and counselor in local schools, colleges and churches.

Originally from Kentucky, Linde Grace White moved to Cincinnati with her husband in the 1960's. She returned to school while raising their three children and began to tackle her own childhood sexual abuse with the help of a therapist.

"I know that my books have helped people and that is my main motivation for writing them," says Ms. White. "It took me a long time to face and understand the abuse I had endured, and to heal from it. With my own experience as ballast and my education in trauma, counseling and special education, I am devoted to helping others. I don't sugar coat what I say in my books or personal appearances; every survivor is responsible for his or her own recovery. But I do think it is my obligation to provide useful tools."
