Susan Letendre lives in a tiny house, on a tiny lake, in the tiniest state of Rhode Island. She is a grateful environmental educator, storyteller, and peace and justice activist. Her activism led her to travel to Cuba, where she met Saulo Serrano, with whom she shares a similar life philosophy. It is he whose illustrations bring this story of to life. Susan believes in, and writes and tells about, the connectedness of all things.
Saulo Serrano, one of Cuba’s best-loved artists, has work on display in the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Museum of Fine Arts) in Havana, and is well-known in modern art circles worldwide. All his work, in his words, “makes visible the fact that everything in the world has a place, and everything in the world fits together.” He lives, works, and teaches among flowers, friends and family in Havana, Cuba.
