Roberta grew up in south central Tennessee and has related strongly to the Civil War period since she was young. When her late mother-in-law told her the story about her own great grandmother, Roberta was captivated and knew she had to write the story, which had been handed down orally for five generations.
After working in commercial printing and as a police and 911 dispatcher, Roberta was in clinical research for 23 years, even owning her own research company. After retiring from research, she took a job as a newspaper reporter, and is now an award winning journalist.
Roberta is a proud mother of three children and nine grandchildren. Besides writing, she enjoys gardening, crocheting, working with stained glass, and spending quality time with her family and her partner Tom.
