I am short and well formed. My dress is plain…my manner is quiet and dignified. Also, I am frank, from the honest expression of my eye. Born in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, in 1963, I attended Boston University (1983-1986), where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
I currently finished my doctoral degree and dissertation while attending University of Phoenix – Online Campus Program (2007-2013). My dissertation topic is the study of computer and telecommunications law (Internet, Extranet, and Intranet) with my past positions with Verizon Communications, Inc. as a Receivables Management Collections Center (RMCC) Service Representative/Consultant, Unlawful Call Center (UCC) Service Representative/Consultant, Taunton Customer Sales and Service Center FiOS Sales Specialist; and Administrative Assistant at the Taunton CSSC Resource Management Force Room.
My focus is centered on the changes in legislation and regulation of morbidity and mortality rates as it applies to motor vehicle drivers who use cellular telephones in the telecommunications industry. I acquired my Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix – Flexnet Program (2004-2006).
I remain an employee, at Verizon Communications, where I am seeking an Executive Assistant position. At the Sales and Service Resource Management Force Room I enter time changes (scheduling, breaks, lunches, closed time and adherence) for Sales and Service Representatives in the New England and New York regions. The work I do now pales in comparison to the work I did at the UCC where I handled calls such as bomb threats, life threats and harassing calls. I worked very closely with the police, FBI, and the Secret Service along with landline customers within thirteen states and the District of Columbia. I also was a Security Floor Warden and a Union Steward (CWA 1400). Between on-line telephone calls from customers in the UCC, I facilitated emergency fire drills, from our 18-story building, as well as grievance(s) in support of our UCC employee base.
Early at my career at Verizon (October 2000- 2005), I was a Service Representative/Consultant where I was able to excel in the area of residential collections. It was there that I made a great reputation being touted as “Top Dog” and most recently called “Big-Game-James.” At the UCC, they called me “Jimmy-Jam” and I have kept that nickname since working with my manager and my fellow workmates/colleagues. I maintained a leadership role receiving honors from both my customers and first-level management. Each year I was able to collect over a million dollars in receivables; a feat that is seldom accomplished but heavily pursued. I currently live with my mother in Framingham, Massachusetts. My son, Harris, lives with his mother and stepfather in Millis, Massachusetts. This allows for my building a bond with him that I hope to develop, as we grow older.
My future interests lie in advancement to become a Team Leader, Manager, Executive Assistant and Chief Information Officer at Verizon while over my 30 years with the company (2000-2030). I also wish to pursue employment up until the age of 99 (2062) where my primary focus is as a manager at the head of Accounting in the National Air and Space Administration (N.A.S.A.).
I have been fortunate, thankful, and grateful to matriculate in the prestigious doctoral program (DM/IST) at University of Phoenix. I wish to be successful through my on-going efforts and wish my fellow classmates/learners/cohorts/colleagues, observers and instructors good luck and God’s guidance.
