Joe Procopio

Joe Procopio is a multi-exit, multi-failure entrepreneur. His exits include one of the first commercially available Generative AI platforms, Automated Insights, to Vista Equity Partners in 2015, and startup resources platform ExitEvent to Capitol Broadcasting in 2013. Before that, he built Intrepid Media, the first social network for writers. He's currently a working entrepreneur and advisor, and the founder of Teaching Startup, a project with a mission to make more and better entrepreneurs.

Joe writes a popular blog at Inc. Magazine and at Medium, with real-world, real-time advice for growth-stage startups. That blog focuses mainly on leadership, product development, technology, and market trends. The content is derived from his day-to-day work growing a startup, his various mentorship and advisor roles, and an open call for questions on his website.

Joe currently contributes regularly to Built In and TechCrunch, and has written about startup and technology for a number of national and regional publications. He has spoken at the United Nations, twice at SXSW, the National Association of Broadcasters, the Columbia School of Journalism, the OnDeck sports conference, and several other events and places.
