Kelly Kirkland

I am a retired attorney living in Houston, Texas. I write both fiction and non-fiction. My fiction includes a collection of short stories and poetry; a philosophical novella; and six full-length historical novels set in the ninth century. My non-fiction includes a primer on writing arguments; a short book about subjective probability theory; an exploration of the logical foundations of creative thinking; a discussion of the scope of Aristotle's Law of Non-Contradiction and various Eastern and Western attempts to transcend it; an historical trilogy of stories from the Roman Empire, the Early Middle Ages, and the High/Late Middle Ages; and a discussion of the spiritual lives of Pope Leo X, Michelangelo, and Martin Luther during the years 1513-1521. I am a graduate of Cold Spring Harbor High School (Cold Spring Harbor, New York), Yale University (New Haven, Connecticut), and Harvard Law School (Cambridge, Massachusetts). I am interested in many things, including, in no particular order, early medieval history (especially the ninth century in western Europe), Latin and ancient Greek, the history of the Germanic languages, Buddhism, pantheism, the history and development of Christian doctrine, logic, the history of physics and principles of modern physics, legal history, football/soccer (Arsenal), baseball (Cubs), and all things Norway/Norwegian. I like bibliophiles, people who offer me peanut M&Ms, and especially bibliophiles who offer me peanut M&Ms.
