Life still follows the same often dusty road that exist in both the light and dark as part of my daily and variable existences. For the past 9 years teaching has been my career of choice. The first two years in middle school science and the last 6 as the math/ reading adult education teacher in a regional jail. This later career endeavor has provided the real motivational drive that has allowed multiple items to be taken off my bucket list. Publishing my first book (Warrior’s Peace) June 2015, book two (Warrior’s Peace II) August 2016 and finally receiving a PhD in Religion.
Interpretations will always be subject to the variations each reader normally adds to the poet's original motivation for a specific direction in their writing. These reader interpretations may never quite mirror the author’s motivation, but it is these personal insights of understanding shaded by situations at the moment of a reader’s contemplation that keeps a writer going. Purposely, these reader reactions supply every poet’s bread and butter energy to supply the power that maintains an ever expanding travel onward through their next flights of imagination. This year finds me working on book three of the Warrior’s Peace trilogy (Warrior’s Peace III). The new collection is the next in the Trilogy and also includes short stories with the next 50 poems. These stories will hopefully add a new perspectives to the previous poetry only fare. Readers will again experience the dark and brooding starts down the rabbit holes of my life views. Everyone should just remember to follow the bread crumbs left along the paths that have historically lead to positive enlightened endings for this author. Hopefully these new flights of fancy will be adding to the reader’s travel amazement. This third iteration short stories are mostly newly created additions to round out this exploration through my imagination. Hopefully, this new change will be adding to your interest and continue your reading amazement.
Success in my opinion can be more realistically gauged by one’s mental ability to confront adversity more than by any actual physical interaction, though fortunately both are more effective as a team one-two punch effort. Persistence and a willingness to take on the daily medley of emotional punches remains the bedrock that most of my work is based upon. My tendencies toward a strong grounded faith continues to bolster me, while providing me an apparently unbreakable anchor to pull me back from some mentally dark emotional travels. Very few friends were ever there for any extended periods, especially during the 13 moves during my Navy career. This has never really changed after my Navy retirement, as no close friends have really kept in contact without major one-sided prodding. Therefore my ties to my past remain strongly based on family bonds refreshed periodically during face to face renewals.
