Robin Maguire

Robin Maguire is a Los Angeles-based novelist and playwright. Born and raised in LA, she graduated from UCLA and studied painting at Otis College of Art and Design — a creative range that has shaped her distinctly visual, character-driven fiction.

Her award-winning play Aquarium was described by Michael Silverblatt of KCRW's Bookworm as "a hand grenade lobbed into the lap of post-moral America." The allure of the novel — no actors, no rehearsals, fewer tears — eventually won favor.

Her first novel, 47 Men, introduced readers to her sharp, witty voice and the emotionally complex worlds she builds. Her second novel, The Weight of Sunshine, published July 28, 2026, follows Nina Rhodes and Jax Hart across four decades of love, ambition, family secrets, and heartbreak — a sweeping multigenerational saga set against the backdrop of affluent California and Manhattan. Maguire lives in Los Angeles with her husband.
