John Daniels has practiced Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis, Missouri, since completing his training there in 1979. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Washington University and is the author of several papers in medical texts and research journals. The Intern is his first work of fiction. He was born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the son of Jewish immigrants who had escaped the Holocaust. He has lived in Saint Louis since 1974, where he raised his three daughters. For the past 18 years he has lived with his partner, Lance Cimarolli.
