Kari Martindale (M.A., Linguistics) is a poet and spoken word artist who has read at Arts guilds across Maryland and performed at the White House. She has been published in a number of literary journals and anthologies, nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and received honorable mention in the Writer’s Digest Annual Competition. She sits on the Board of Maryland Writers’ Association and the management team of EC Poetry & Prose. Kari has served on judging panels for Maryland State Arts Council and Poetry Out Loud, as a volunteer judge for slam competitions, and on judging and selection committees for anthologies. She is a teaching artist for Armed Services Arts Partnership. Kari freelances for the Frederick News Post and has visited all 50 States and over 40 countries.
