Jerry Rackley

Over three decades ago, Jerry Rackley graduated from university with a degree in Computer Science. Hired by IBM, no doubt for his mad FORTRAN and COBOL programming skills, he landed in a sales and marketing branch office, where he never wrote another line of code, and never looked back, fully embracing the world and work of marketing.

Today, he is Chief Analyst for Demand Metric, a marketing research and advisory firm, where he leads the company's research efforts. His recent studies have covered topics such as: digital body language, marketing analytics, marketing technology, video marketing, interactive content and digital marketing.

After leaving IBM, Rackley held product management, marketing and marketing communications roles in various startup and established software companies. He is keenly interested in the culture of marketing and how companies create a competitive advantage through effective positioning.

A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Rackley also serves there as an adjunct marketing faculty member in the Spears School of Business.
