With over 15 years of experience in education technology, Michael Keough is the Chief Technology Officer at Region 16 Education Service Center. He holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration and a Master’s in Instructional Design and Technology from West Texas A&M University.
Michael has led significant initiatives at Canyon ISD and Dumas ISD, including installing over 200 miles of fiber between Amarillo and Canyon, Texas schools. Since January 2021, he has provided visionary leadership at Region 16, supporting state technology initiatives and community projects like "Panhandle Connected," which aims to deliver equitable internet access across the region. He also champions Esports programs to promote diversity and inclusion.
Michael's work deeply involves community engagement and preparing students for future technologies. As detailed in his book "Disrupting EdTech Leadership," his leadership philosophy focuses on innovation, strategic planning, and building effective teams to enhance educational outcomes.
