W. P. Venter

W P (Buks) Venter was born in Roodepoort, South Africa, and graduated from Stellenbosch University with a B Sc Agric degree majoring in Winemaking and Chemistry in 1977. After an eighteen-year career as Chief Brandy Master to KWV he became a freelance international distillation consultant and designs distillation equipment in the biofuels environment. He is a silver medallist philatelist at national level and was honoured as a Living Legend by the South African Wine Industry in 2010. Author of Michel's Mobile Distillery, Michel's Roving Restaurant, Terror of the Outeniquas and The Philatelist. An alchemist at heart who distills the graveyard shift at Johann Rupert's L'Ormarins - when all his characters come to life on paper!
