I grew up in a small country town in Ohio, a place that profoundly influenced my strength and character. The wide open spaces ignited my imagination from a young age, and despite my passion for writing, finding quiet time in a bustling household with nine siblings and a widowed mother was a challenge. My mother often read classic fairy tales, like Little Red Riding Hood, which frightened me as a child. I continued this tradition as a parent but adapted the stories to spare my children any fright.

As a grandmother, I shifted from classic storybooks to crafting my own tales. It all began when I wanted to read to my grandson, only to find no books. Instead of running downstairs to fetch one, I created a story on the spot. To my surprise, a narrative flowed effortlessly from my imagination. After he fell asleep, I began typing the story, adding to it with each nap, marking the beginning of my journey as a storyteller. This newfound role has allowed me to share stories and helped my grandchildren develop their writing skills, creativity, and imagination.

My aim is to inspire others, believing that it’s possible to tell engaging stories without violence, ensuring that parents and grandparents feel comfortable with the content shared with their children.
