J.A. Wainwright

J.A. Wainwright was born in Toronto in 1946 and is the author of three novels, five books of poetry, and two biographies. His first novel, "A Deathful Ridge" (about George Mallory and the 1924 Mount Everest expedition) was shortlisted for the Boardman-Tasker Prize in Mountain Literature in 1997. He has been influenced over the years by the writing of Patrick White, Lawrence Durrell, and Bob Dylan, and taught a course on Dylan's lyrics and music at Dalhousie University where he is now an emeritus professor of English Literature.
