I was fortunate enough to escape the stereotypes that follow young ladies who grew up like I did; in the projects and ghettos, in the inner city public school system of the 80’s and 90’s and in the racist South…Tennessee to be exact.

It was in this environment that I learned to overcome the shackles of fear, poverty and neglect from my community and from my household.

Despite tremendous odds, I graduated as Valedictorian of my high school and was accepted into various Southeastern universities under full scholarships. I decided to attend Austin Peay State University, becoming the first in my family to attend college.

As it turns out, I excelled even beyond earning my BS by earning my MBA from the University of Phoenix. Which was another first for my family.

I decided to achieve yet another first in my family and bought my house when I was only 26 years old.

I continued to climb the corporate ladder too, going from support positions to Executive Management positions.

In addition to blogging, I’m also a best-selling author, a content creator, a working mother and a licensed aesthetician.

I’ve been online over 7 years and have had the honor of working with women in the areas of self-esteem, self-worth and financial freedom.

I speak from personal experience from years of hating how I looked, "dating dumb" and working in roles not worthy of my talents.

I am qualified because have walked my talk.
