The day I taped paper towels on my arms and jumped off the propane tank to see if I could fly—don’t try it; it won’t work—my mom told me I had too active of an imagination. When I wasn’t attempting to take flight or tying our wagon to my sister’s pony with a jump rope (that’s another story) I was reading.

Books come to life for me. Whether I’m reading or writing, characters become real people. I laugh and cry with them. My heart breaks for some of them, and I’ve gotten so angry at a few, I considered killing them off. And, don’t tell my husband, but there’s one character I’m still crushing on.

It’s my hope that when you read one of my romances, you’ll be drawn into the story. You’ll feel embarrassment with Melanie when she becomes a little too vocal in the presence of a living Malibu Ken doll. (Making Memories) Or maybe you’ll be frustrated right along with Sam when he realizes yet another of his dates is a certifed nut. (Permanent Position) And, if I did my job, you’ll be reluctant to leave your “new friends” behind.

There will be three more titles in the Extended Family series, and the first Hearts for Ransom book , Counting On It, will be on Kindle June 26. I also have a Christian romantic suspense series, In Shadow, in the works.

In addition to books, I have also written a short story entitled Gotcha!, which was placed on the short list of the Inernational Writer’s Village Annual Contest.

When I’m not writing, my nose is still in a book. If my husband or grandchildren (my sons and daughter gave up on me long ago) convince me to set my reading aside, I like to walk, go to the movies, and watch those reality shows about true-life crimes. Dateline is my favorite, as you’ll probably guess if you read Making Memories.

Traveling is also a favorite pastime, with North Carolina being the “hot spot” right now. The site I like to visit there is my daughter’s house. My greatest ambition is to visit Montana. There’s something about photographs, videos, and books depicting the state that enthrall me. And while I’m there, a new character will get herself into a situation I have to write about. It happens every time.
