William Bostock was born and reared in Johnstown, PA. He then lived on the Upper West Side of Manhattan near Lincoln Centre for twenty-five years. He worked at The Associated Press for five years, at Grey Advertising for one year and for fourteen years he was an editor of school books in the Special Elementary Projects Division at Holt, Rineheart and Winston.
He published 3 contemporary novels, The Way We Are, The Lovemakers and The Sensuous Summer, and then his fourth published work was his major historical novel, I, Cleopatra, a best seller which in 1978 won him The Milestone Award rom The West Coast Review of Books.
He lived for one year each in Paris, Bermuda, in Greece and in North Hollywood, CA., and now for the last several years he has resided in upper state New York, where he was employed in the newspaper field and in telecommunications.
For the last three years he has been involved in the world of little theater, acting the roles of Juror No. 2 in Twelve Angry Men in Waverly, NY, Chief Sitting Bull in Annie Get Your Gun and Dwight Babcock, produced at the Valley Community Theater in Sayre, PA, and he was Professor Willard in Our Town, performed at the Clemons Center in Elmira, NY.
