Jacob Watson

More About the Author:

Jacob's spiritual practice includes, in addition to daily yoga and meditation, painting Enso circles, an ancient practice that blends art and spirituality. He worked on Essence: The Emotional Path to Spirit for 18 years. It began as a book of teachings, and then became more personal, as he realized how he had been able to heal his own wounds. He received a Doctor of Ministry degree from the University of Creation Spirituality. His first book was Morning Blessing Letters: A Book of Daily gifts. His next book, Enso Morning: Daily Meditation Gifts presents over 165 of these letters to awaken, stimulate and deepen meditation and spiritual practice. In the tradition of Robert Frost and Wendell Berry, Jacob uses poetic images and personal experiences of New England nature, the birds, animals, woods, and beaches of coastal Maine, to awaken readers to begin their day nurtured and encouraged to be themselves, joined with like-minded souls. The personal letters in Enso Morning: Daily Meditation Gifts provide a friendly, comforting and accessible way to wake up and affirm the whole self. Each letter has seven brief paragraphs that offer a welcome to the day, a silent meditation, affirmations of body, heart and soul, a blessing and a gift for each day. Jacob has recorded these, and other meditations, for Insight Timer, the free phone app.

A father with four children and one granddaughter, he lives in Portland, Maine, with his wife Kristine, who is a grief counselor. His latest book is We’re Gainin’: Collins Brook, A Maine Free School - A Memoir.

After teaching a new pilot Interfaith chaplaincy program for the Elisabeth Kubler-Ross Foundation in Guatemala, Jacob is now providing Spiritual Companionship - individual meetings - in person and via Zoom from his home office sanctuary.
