GORDON BRYCE

Hi, I am a born and bred Scot, much travelled and familiar with many cultures, peoples and religions working with foreign peoples up close.I can trace my descent through the Scottish clan and family system to the Highland warrior MacIntosh clan, the Bryce family Viking or Anglo-Saxon settlers and my mother's family, on her paternal line, to oriental connections. I live and work in Turkey as a Theory of Knowledge teacher in the IB system. Like many of you out there I am doing my best to support my family and kids go through school and get by as best we can.

I have had a long interest in martial arts, being a fan of Jackie Chan and the RunRunShaw martial arts movies but in the early 1980's I turned to research the European martial tradition as expressed in chivalry, this was during a time when I tried very hard to keep a boys' and girls' junior school football team going in the face of an imposition of a left-leaning political school indoctrination that discouraged competitive sports in English schools.

More journies abroad and a visit to a Crusader castle in Rhodes, Greece confirmed a knowledge I held innately that the 'warrior ethos' in its better expression had been undermined, that there had been a terrible betrayal and sell out. In the 1990's I learned about the rich heritage of Islam and its many variations of expression that had at times exchanged positively with the west.

My intention is to bring an authentic chivalric ethos back to life that we may serve society better. In 1999 I bacame a member of the Bahai religious community. I enjoy using Facebook.
