Jimmy R. Watson

Jimmy R. Watson is an ordained United Church of Christ clergyperson currently serving Weimar UCC in Weimar, Texas. A native West Texan, he received degrees in religious studies from Hardin-Simmons University (B.A. 1987; M.A. 1989) and ethics from Baylor University (PhD 1996). He has served United Church of Christ and Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) congregations since 1990 in Texas, Missouri, Indiana, and Kentucky. His works include "Big Jesus: A Pastor's Struggle with Christology" (2015); "An UnDevotional: Jesus is Still Speaking Through the Gospel of Luke" (2019); and "People Are No Damn Good: A Pastor's Struggle with Ethics and Morality" (2022). All of his works are personal, humorous (of the snarky variety), and informative.
