Jon Strain

Jon was raised in Hamilton, Montana, the son of a race-horse trainer, breeder and cattleman. He earned a BA (Speech) from Idaho State University (1983), married Pam and joined CRU staff in 1984. They did campus ministry at the University of Utah and Brigham Young University for the next 13 years. He concurrently earned a Master of Divinity from Western Seminary in Portland. Jon is an ordained minister. They reside in the Boise ID area where they moved to plant a church (1997-2001) and still attend Riverside Community Church. In 2001, Jon joined the staff of Search Ministries and opened Search Boise. He is the Area Director for Idaho. Search equips adults for a lifestyle of ministry, relational evangelism, relational apologetics and reproducing discipleship. Jon spends his waking hours training men "up" in the heart and mind. The two tracks of training include God & life questions and manhood questions. Jon & Pam, now empty-nesters, reside in Eagle where they raised their family. Their four sons, now adults, each live in every Northwest city that begins with "S." Jon & Pam enjoy a variety of sports, recreation, reading and dark roast coffee.
