My earliest memories growing up in Oklahoma are of my grandparents telling me stories, which provided lots of fuel for my imagination and leading me to become a storyteller. I had written a number of children's stories when one of my sons challenged me to enter the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). This challenge to write 50,000 words in 30 days was more than I had ever attempted and I was frightened that I couldn't complete it. What I discovered was a joy and excitement writing stories for "grownups." When I look in the mirror, I see a storyteller who is now an author.
