George Evans

George H. Evans is a writer by vocation and a marketer by profession and is the Executive Creative Director for The Basement, the Indianapolis digital agency.

A graduate of the fiction writing program at the University of Pittsburgh, Geo was greatly influenced by the work of Raymond Carver, John Cheever and Ernest Hemingway and owes what little ability he possesses to the words and mentorship of Monty Culver and the outlaw Chuck Kinder.

Like the poet Evan Shipman, Geo chose his career path as a “matter of substance,” but has been writing short fiction as a matter of therapy for more than thirty-five years. He is the author of the collection Buffalo & Rochelle and a co-author of the anthology Lobster Tales as well as Muse: An Ekphrastic Trio and Warp: A Speculative Trio. He also has two screenplays in circulation that are a constant source of frustration and anti-establishment anger as they contain very little T&A and even fewer explosions.

George workshops at the Indiana Writers Center as is a founding member of Boulevard Press and The Loose Lobsters Writers’ Project.
