Rita Boehm

Rita M. Boehm discovered the magic of the written word as a young child. She quickly read through the bulk of the books in the children’s section of the local library. Horse ownership was denied her, but MISTY OF CHINCOTEAGUE and the BLACK STALLION were well within her reach. She shared Laura Ingalls Wilder’s adventures on the prairie and happily went along for the ride as Nancy Drew and Trixie Beldon discovered hidden staircases and solved intriguing mysteries.

As her career was winding down, Rita refocused on her earlier dream of becoming an author. She was thrilled to publish her first international, romantic suspense novel, SECOND CHANCES, in 2014 (NEWLY UPDATED AND RERELEASED IN 2024). Now living in central Florida with her husband, her sweet gray tabby cat, and her dressage horse, she continues to focus on her writing and has published six more novels, a children's picture book, and a WWII nonfiction book incorporating her father-in-law's journals.

BLUEBIRDS IN THE GARDEN, Rita's tribute to the charming pair of bluebirds that chose her garden to raise their family, took top honors in the Children's Book category in the Florida Writers Association's 2019 Royal Palm Literary Awards competition.

Her latest book, THE PRICE OF DECEPTION, is the much-awaited sequel to her multiple-award-winning thriller, THE PRICE OF REVENGE.
