Mike Walters

Mike Walters writes emotionally charged mystery and suspense fiction set in the rugged landscapes of Southern Oregon. His novels blend atmospheric Pacific Northwest settings with deeply human characters navigating secrets, grief, and the messy work of redemption.

He has published five novels: Memories of an Ash Covered Sky, The Good Sheriff, Hidden Beneath the Pines, and The Rogue River Incident duology. His work has been compared to Jane Harper, William Kent Krueger, and Kristin Hannah's darker fiction.

A former U.S. Air Force photographer, Mike spent years observing people and places across all 50 states before returning to Southern Oregon — the place he has always called home. A marketer by day and novelist by night, he writes fiction shaped by his deep connection to the land and the quiet emotional truths that live beneath the surface of everyday life.

When he's not writing, Mike is mountain biking, road cycling, or photographing the stunning Oregon wilderness. He lives in Sunny Valley, Oregon.
