This original "Jersey Girl" is passionate about writing and got her start in the Newark Public Schools and Essex County Community College...Malika Carey (aka Malika Staar) is an author, publisher, and writing educator who helps aspiring and first-time writers turn their stories, experiences, and expertise into impactful books and sustainable platforms. She is the founder of MaliStaar Publishing, LLC, where she teaches authors how to write, publish, and market books with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Through writing classes, workshops, and faith-based initiatives, Malika has guided authors in personal development, Christian inspiration, entrepreneurship, and life-story writing. Her work extends into churches, schools, and community organizations, where she uses storytelling as a pathway to empowerment, healing, and education.
