Catherine Walker

Hello, my name is Catherine walker and I was born in the Northern territory which is in the top end of Australia. I lived in small town called batchelor for the first 7 years of my life and was interested in all things to do with nature, from trees to lizards, insects, crocodiles and wild animals in general. I had a wonderful sunny ,carefree and adventurous childhood with my 5 siblings and mother and father. My father worked in the RUM JUNGLE Uranium mine which was very close to the township of batchelor..so I often think that the uranium that literally runs in our veins, could eventually become a better story than "superman"...after all, superman only had to deal with plutonium..whereas I had the real deal and got to play near unprocessed uranium ... hha!

I've lived in Victoria, Australia for the past 51 years first in East Doncaster then in a place called Dandenong, I have been a painter and ceramic artist all that time and was taught how to paint on pottery by my husband Robert walker, a master potter and a great man and father to our two children Daniel and simon.

Daniel the older son has helped me to publish my first childrens books with kindle, he is a real wiz with the computer so thankyou Daniel for editing my stories, I could not have done them without you.

Now that I'm much older, I still love animals, in fact I adore them.. especially our own pet "Mister Kosmo" who inspired me to write a special book about him called "Our pet is Mister Kosmo" I advocate against cruelty to animals and often sign petitions to help free animals that are caged or in nasty cruel environments ,as I can't stand seeing beautiful creatures so disrespected. I have also written a wonderful rhyming verse childrens book about a young kangaroo called "Katie mackay, the grey kangaroo" who goes on quite a revealing adventure.I was definitely thinking of the northern territory when I wrote about Katie Mackay and was so thrilled with the results of my efforts in completing these books.

I hope you'll take the time to read them, I'm sure you'll enjoy them as much as I enjoyed writing them ...thankyou!
