by Karin Jensen

Karin Jensen, author of the award-winning Discover Remote Places books, is the recipient of the International Impact Book Award, the Global Book Award, the Eric Hoffer Award, and has been featured on FOX News. She writes middle-grade fiction that transports young readers to the world's most remote places like the Mongolian steppe, the volcanic islands of Vanuatu, the highlands of Sulawesi, and the High Arctic.

What makes Karin's books unique is their authenticity. Having traveled to over 100 countries across four continents, she collaborates directly with people from each culture she writes about. The protagonist of her Vanuatu novel is based on a real young man who later helped introduce the book to schools in his homeland.

A former international language teacher (16 years) and scout leader (12 years), Karin speaks six languages: German, English, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Russian.

Through her stories, Karin shows young readers that while cultures may differ, the heartbeat of humanity—family, courage, and the search for identity—remains the same everywhere.

"Different Cultures. Same Heartbeat."
