L Michael Haller

L. Michael Haller is an executive producer of video games living in Los Angeles. His wrestling games have won two Academy of Interactive Science awards for Game of the Year in their category. Mr. Haller was also the General Manager of Dreamworks Interactive, where his teams produced the most successful of the Medal of Honor games.

Prior to entering the video game world, he consulted for Kodansha (Ltd.), enabling their pioneering entrance into the world anime business with AKIRA, GHOST IN THE SHELL and many other titles. On the Board of Streamline Pictures, he wrote and produced the English version of AKIRA and then saw to its distribution around the world.

Mr. Haller began his professional career as a Foreign Service Officer, posted to the American Embassy, Tokyo, where he established the Embassy’s Planning Division (Kikaku-bu) and became its first Director. During his tenure, he promoted the Japanese lectures of many famous American writers, such as Tennessee Williams, Edward Albee, and Alvin Toffler. While serving as the Acting Cultural Attache, he was asked by Asahi Broadcasting to join them in setting up the first Japanese language television network in America.

Mr. Haller was a McCormick Scholar at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism before entering government service. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, but considers himself a Chicagoan, where he was raised.
