W. James Chan

W. James Chan earned a degree in Creative Writing at the University of Wollongong, Australia. His Honours thesis concerned representations of messianic figures in the works of Rushdie and Kazantzakis, two authors who've strongly influenced his work. Before and after this academic pursuit he's held the sorts of jobs that are both quite unusual and yet fit right into an author's bio: anything from manually washing dishes in a Chinese restaurant to archiving videos of sewer systems.

He currently resides in Sydney with his partner Kate and two Norwegian Forest Cats.
