Jim Wilson, K5ND, is an active amateur radio operator, freelance writer, and retired publishing executive.
His freelance writing career began in 1976 with his first book and magazine articles published by Wayne Green, W2NSD, and 73 Magazine. This led to a writing job with Heathkit, writing home study courses, including the General Class Amateur Radio License Course. After a career in publishing, he retired in 2013 and promptly rewired as a freelance writer at PathForeWord, his solopreneur business.
He writes the blog “K5ND Ham Radio Adventures” and has contributed to QST magazine, ARRL National Contest Journal, CQ Magazine, and the Central States VHF Society Proceedings. He’s a frequent speaker at conferences and amateur radio club meetings.
Jim has also written extensively on career development and the job search process. His book Job Search Essentials 3.0, co-authored with his daughter, Dr. Brooke Wilson DePue, is available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback.
Through PathForeWord, he has written on real estate, nonprofit fundraising, nonprofit and data journalism, home remodeling, optometry, performance management, leadership, manufacturing, safety, transportation, and many other topics.
